"My lighting is highly influenced by fine cinema.
Photographing at night, I pre visualize a lighting diagram, open the camera shutter, and work with hand-held lights including strobes and powerful, modified spot lights. During exposures lasting from 5 to 30 minutes
I work in, and at the edge of, the scene to build a photograph.
I’ve experimented with light-painting techniques continuously over my
35 year career in photography; these are the latest results."
My friend, artist George Martz, asked me to contribute an original artwork for a Parkinsons fundraiser. Twenty one local artists interpreted "pancakes in art" for the Team Fox Delaware Pancakes for Parkinsons yearly event. An auction of the artwork helped raise well over $100,000. for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research. This was my contribution, a composite of approximately twenty photographs. A portion of each sale of this image will be contributed to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. |
